The Operation: Here we are.

Gut Füchtel today is a traditional family business that is structured into several operations. Along with the agriculture and forestry operations, it also includes a private company called "Landscape Preservation" under the direction of greenkeeper, Mr. B. Kortenbusch, who takes care of the golfing facility at the Golf Club Vechta Welpe e.V. that is still managed by the senior boss, Maximilian Graf von Merveldt.

The "Gut Füchtel horse raising operation" that raises, boards and trains mostly Oldenburg dressage horses is the main business nowadays. One of the main focal points is breeding with Oldenburg mares from performance lines with an emphasis on dressage that have proved themselves for generations. We have around 8 premium mares in foal by our own and up to 12 mares from clients for years! All in all, up to 100 horses are kept here.

The "Gut Füchtel agriculture operation" on the estate concentrates mainly on pasture and farmland under cultivation around Vechta as well as approximately 260 hectares of forest, most of which is a greenbelt recreation area located on the outskirts of the city of Vechta. The farm operation concentrates mainly on horse breeding and training but still keeps pigs for fattening and some cattles that are kept solely for pasture hygiene reasons.

Since 2006 we opened the small "Café & Bistro Gut Füchtel" directly on our farm, where you can have a break and watch the horses on the pasture or in training. This is completed since March 2011 with our new "Guesthouse Gut Füchtel". You're welcome now in five modern and comfortable appartments!!
